Meet Jabbarah
Hello! I’m Jabbarah - Andrea Jacobson. I’m passionate about raising heart consciousness and transforming the way we view and nurture one another.
I aim to help shift the narrative around high sensitivity, intensity and diagnoses, empowering children and their families by promoting healthy relationships with self, others, and environments to regulate and thrive.
With a big heart and healing presence,
I AM a sensitive soul with a sweet, powerful heart and passionate intensity. I AM a keen observer and deep feeler. I AM a dedicated voice for our intense kids. I AM a catalyst for transformation.
As an experienced Occupational Therapist, I've dedicated my career to transforming the way we understand and support intense children. With a strong educational background and first-hand experience, I've successfully helped families and professionals foster healthier relationships with these incredible kids. My journey has been defined by a passion for creating dynamic, effective strategies that empower all involved to thrive.
I am deeply in-love with the Nurtured Heart Approach® and know deep in my soul, if everyone were committed to the NHA we would live in a peaceful, harmonious, and wonderful world.
My Journey
My journey is one of studying the human condition, reshaping perspectives, and developing Inner Wealth™. I’ve walked a unique path of personal growth and self-awareness, learning to weave intuition, traditional, and non-traditional approaches together on my wisdom quest for learning how to truly nurture children. Professional experience working with intense children and life experience of being one myself have led me to profound insights and methods that truly resonate with parents, professionals, and especially children.
My Approach
Deeply rooted in compassion, understanding, and the belief that every person has the potential to thrive beyond labels and limitations. I integrate keen observation with nurturing techniques to build an authentically greatness-oriented self-concept. By focusing on healthy thought patterns, awareness, regulation, and heartful practices, I help families create harmonious environments where both parents and children can flourish. This holistic approach, backed by my specialized occupational therapy training, extensive experience, embodiment of the Nurtured Heart Approach® and study of heart rhythm meditation brings out the best in children and caregivers, fostering resilience and growth.
Why I Do What I Do
I believe that every child holds infinite potential, and it's our responsibility to nurture their souls with authenticity, compassion, and wisdom. I value the power of reciprocal relationships and appreciate children as our greatest teachers. And, I believe in our capacity to heal. Together, we can create a positive impact, heralding a heart-based world where all people feel seen, heard, and empowered.
My Unique
Strengths & Impact
People often tell me they've never met anyone like me; that I have amazing energy and child-like wonder. Operating in a state of joy, I radiate brightness wherever I go.
I also have a calming presence for people riding the waves of our complex human existence. Children often ask me, “How do you stay so calm?” to which I respond, "I breathe into my heart and focus on the gifts, love, and growth." Kids light up and gravitate towards me, and people feel comfortable unfolding and being their truest selves in my presence, which is a testament to the positive and profound impact I am here to make.
My story is one of constant learning and adaptation, seamlessly blending science and intuition to create transformative experiences. My commitment to personalized care and ability to see beyond the surface catalyzes the unlocking of your child’s and family’s full potential.
Professional Background
I have dedicated my life to fostering growth and transforming the lives of intense and highly sensitive children and those who love them. My approach is a rare fusion of evidence-based and deeply intuitive practices. I hold a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, a B.S.Ed. in Education, a Master's Certificate in Intuition Medicine, and am a Certified Advanced Trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach®. With keen insights and effective strategies developed over nearly 20 years as a pediatric occupational therapist across diverse diagnostic conditions, settings, and cultural backgrounds, I tap into people’s emotional, physiological, and spiritual needs.
While living in San Francisco and following a volunteer trip to Bolivia, I discovered that I am a highly sensitive person and realized that the children and families gravitating towards me were also highly sensitive. This was a turning point in my career, and I began focusing on how to make life less confusing and overwhelming for highly sensitive kids.
My work shifted to supporting kids who were struggling to understand the impact of their unharnessed intensity on themselves and others, thus struggling at home and in educational settings. Using a unique combination of occupational therapy with the nurturing principles of the Nurtured Heart Approach® (NHA), I addressed the children’s social-emotional, sensory, and energetic challenges while reshaping their perspectives and ability to function respectfully towards themselves, others, and the environment. Through this holistic approach, I helped decrease their fears, increase their flexibility and adaptability, and foster self-agency in making healthy choices. Within a few months, the feedback was astounding—the children transformed from being the most challenging to the most well-liked by peers and teachers.
